Sydney Lingenfelter is a Queer, interdisciplinary artist from Grand Rapids, Michigan. They specialize in photography/videography and performance. Through their practice, Sydney manifests and shed skins by means of finding an alternative world. Personas like drag-queen-horse-girl Ryder Cowgurl are embodied to bring an otherworldly quality to their artmaking. The work is often presented as caught between humor and heartache, fantasy and loss. Like the nature of film photography, their practice is ephemeral, messy, and often not perfect. They believe it is through the understanding of our differences that a more equitable world is created.
